About

Born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, I developed my taste for wine almost 10 years ago, in my early 20s. After exploring Australia's Hunter Valley wine region, I quickly gained an an appreciation for the land, climate and culture of wine as well as the wondrous variety of flavors and aromas in every glass. While working as a health journalist after college on the east coast, I developed a passion and deeper curiosity for wine, particularly deep, full-bodied reds. As my "social hobby" evolved, I began attending wine seminars throughout PA, courses at the Philadelphia Wine School and eventually traveling to Napa Valley to visit some of the country's foremost wineries.

By age 25 I landed in San Francisco, California to pursue my wine and food studies by attending the California Culinary Academy. Since my graduation in 2007, I have held various positions in the wine industry, ranging from hospitality and events to public relations and marketing. Presently, I work for the world's largest wine company, where I travel the country managing National Events and Sponsorships for an 80+ brand portfolio. I am a member of the American Wine Society, and I have completed the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) Intermediate Level Certification. I will be taking the Certified Wine Specialist exam in February 2011.

Additionally, I hold a BS in Journalism from Boston University, and have previously held positions in television, magazines, newspapers and online publications. "Beers On Wine" will cover travel, trends, news and more in the world of hospitality with a fun, fresh, informative voice. When I'm not blogging, I'm usually running, cycling, practicing yoga or hiking through northern California's amazing terrain. I can also be found roaming San Francisco quenching my thirst (these days Oregon Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris tickle my fancy) and satiating my appetite with my boyfriend, Chris, a.k.a "The Editor". I hope you'll join me for journeys, meals, drinks and more as I eat, drink and live to tell about it. ~t
